Shping started its life as the Authenticateit platform in 2012. Concerned about the growing threat of counterfeit and unsafe products entering legitimate retail situations, Shping's founders developed a robust ecosystem that helped organisations to verify the authenticity of products through the supply chain, all the way through to the point of purchase.

Today, Shping has evolved into a powerful, all-round brand protection, marketing and consumer engagement platform. Shping is fuelled by product information supplied by brands, retailers, government institutions, certification agencies, customs, product recall portals and GS1 from Shping's Global Product Database - growing to become the largest of its kind in the world.

Consumers can access the database by scanning product barcodes through the Shping App, giving them up-to-date information about products they are thinking of buying before they proceed to checkout.

Introducing Shping Coin

To further encourage adoption, Shping is now introducing an innovative cryptocurrency-based reward system to the platform allowing brands and participating parties to reward consumers directly with Shping Coin for their engagement with their products and messaging, setting the stage for a new paradigm in shopper marketing, loyalty, brand protection and consumer safety.

Shping Security enables brands, manufacturers, distributors and consumers to work together to physically track, trace and audit products through the supply chain from the point of manufacture, all the way through to the point of sale.
